It is entirely possible to eschew the A5 and drive along the River Dee upon its northern bank, the Llantysilio to Carrog road.  To do so is to travel through some of the most beautiful scenery you could wish for.  It is genuinely breath taking, and Rhewl is situated amongst this beauty.  Its bad form to be envious of those that live here, but you will be.  Park up in Rhewl, there are places to do so, and just stop.  If possible, pick a day with some sun and you will not regret the time you spend there.  It will stay with you, and will sustain you at times when beauty of any kind seems distant.
